How to Make a Custom Full Length Shower Curtain

One of my favorite elements in our bathroom is the vintage clawfoot tub, and I knew that tub needed to be a centerpiece with the right shower curtain. To be able to customize the length, fullness, and choose the fabric myself, I decided to make a custom curtain instead of buying something ready-made. I partnered [...]

This is the oldest building on our property. We know it was used as an out kitchen for some time - but it predates the current house on the property (originally built in 1795). There was another house here from 1750 on which was burned down in the Mohawk Valley raids in 1780, but this stone building may be even a little older than that (according to a historian who visited the house in the process of listing it). The building has a Dutch style jambless fireplace in it - a chimney built in to the rafters that was not very popular post 1700 - but the original owners of the patent to this land were Dutch and may have used that type of construction on the first building they built here. Most recently this building was used as a chicken coop - so it needs to be cleaned out and assessed for repairs. But for now it’s just looking pretty in all the snow. ❄️
Weekly tablescape - I love taking flowers from one tablescape and rearranging them for another. It can make them look completely different and recutting the stems makes them last longer. The cachepot with the flowers is vintage Limoges, as are the dishes. The white linen and gold striped tablecloth is an estate sale find. “Napkins” are thrifted Williams Sonoma placemats folded to look like napkins - I do this a lot so I should probably find actual pink linen napkins. The charger plates with gold rim are thrifted - I see simple gold and silver rimmed dishes all the time and they are perfect for layering. The glass compotes are also thrifted but unmarked. Modern gold flatware is from Amazon - I will link in stories. Hope you all had a wonderful Wednesday! #danascaratablescapes
In case you missed it - I ran down the to do list of everything that’s left to be done in the kitchen in my stories yesterday. The short story is: build out the pantry area, panel the two plain sides of the island, paint and organize inside the cabinets, replace outlets and switches, paint the floors, and decorate! I also posted an audience survey to help me find out what you like to see on Park & Division if you’d like to weigh in! Swipe up link is in stories. 🤍
Happy Valentine’s Day! 💕
Valentine’s Tablescape number two! A tablecloth with a bold print and colored dishes will always be my favorite formula for tablescapes. The tablecloth and bamboo silverware are both Amazon finds - I will link them in my stories. The milk glass vase is a thrift find from years ago - milk glass is something I see a lot in our area thrift stores. The red dishes are a recent thrift find - isn’t that deep red color gorgeous? The embroidered napkins were from an estate sale - my main vintage source for table linens. Valentine’s Day might not be everyone’s cup of tea but it’s always fun to decorate for. ❤️ #danascaratablescapes #valentinesday #valentinestablescape #thriftedhome
Graham, Harrison and I made Valentine’s Day garlands for their beds - see how we did it in stories. I love that this craft let them practice tracing, cutting and a simple sewing stitch. 💙 We did this along with some other crafting friends! @adoredhouse @homemadehappinest @blackandolive @krthome - check out what they made!
