How to Make a Custom Full Length Shower Curtain

One of my favorite elements in our bathroom is the vintage clawfoot tub, and I knew that tub needed to be a centerpiece with the right shower curtain. To be able to customize the length, fullness, and choose the fabric myself, I decided to make a custom curtain instead of buying something ready-made. I partnered [...]

I just installed this light fixture - my first one done by myself 🙌🏻 I may or may not be turning it on and off more than usual to see the magic ✨
My boys found me some daffodils growing in the leaves behind the barn. And this colorful print from Aileen @homemadehappinest ended up in the kitchen. It feels like Spring. 🌼
Chippy paint and plaster in the bay window. That bright green color on the molding has given me pause for a few years. I’m thinking I want more of an eau de nil in the dining room but wouldn’t it be cool to have just the bay window in that original green? First there will be a lot of molding stripping to get through, but a girl can dream!
I just stripped this trim that goes around the round window in our powder room today, and then sanded half of it (see stories for photos). I want to do something with this signature for Alfred DeGraff I found on the back. DeGraff was the man who renovated this house in the 1870s to make it a grand Italianate style home instead of the federal style 1.5 story home it had been before. I don’t know if this would have been DeGraff signing his own name or his carpenter marking the trim to remember who it belonged to. Either way I’m going to trace it before we reinstall this.
Happy Easter and Passover this weekend to all who celebrate. 🤍
Progress shot of the powder room! I painted just the sections where the sink and toilet would be installed (toilet is in the slanted space to the left here). The wood braces are just holding the undermount sink to the marble while the adhesive cures. I ordered the wrong brass pipes for underneath the sink so the PVC and pex situation is temporary until I order the new parts (thanks to our contractors for fitting us in to install the plumbing!). Lots more still to finish but it’s looking kind of pretty so far! I just finished stripping the door today so I’ll prime that and hang it before Easter and we will have a functional bathroom downstairs!
