Around the House

Despite the long-running mini-succulent container-garden trend, I’ve never had one! I saw these cute little guys at Home Depot the other day and decided to bring a few home for these vintage metal planters I’ve never used. I love seeing them on our buffet every day.

I’ve had this cute, simple dresser with campaign style handles for a while (it was a Craigslist find), and we recently decided to paint it (it was an unattractive knotty pine), and put it in G’s room. That way, we can put his long, low dresser in the new baby’s room to double as a changing table. I added the brass brackets on the corners and between the drawers to give it even more of a campaign feel, and I love it.

Is there any color that feels more like Spring than the yellow of daffodils and forsythias? I was so happy when I saw these had both bloomed earlier this week!

Easter happened, G wore cute outfits, and I was 36 weeks pregnant. It was so much fun this year because G was just genuinely delighted by everything that was happening. He seemed so confused about why everyone kept giving him presents but he was so excited. And, it was nice to spend such a fun holiday with our families before new baby fever takes over later this month!

And, last but not least, it snowed today in New York! A little late, but we knew we couldn’t escape at least one real storm. The light in our house is so beautiful on a sunny, snowy day. I snapped this photo in G’s room with my iPhone this morning and it’s so happy and bright.
