I finally settled on a color for the living room walls. I was looking for a tan with gray in it and it was a big challenge to find the right color because the living room isn’t a bright and sunny space. I shared the whole back and forth process in stories and it was fun to have others weigh in along the way! The winner was Northern Cliffs by @benjaminmoore which is right in the middle of gray and tan. The trim color is Sail Cloth and the ceiling and crown are Chantilly Lace. Now I am going to move all the furniture to this side so I can paint the other side. And, eventually, I’m going to attempt a stenciled pattern on the walls - but it’s nice to know if that doesn’t work out I have this cozy color nailed down!
This half of the ceiling has two coats! Now to move all the furniture to the other side and do it all again. 🙌🏻 Because how worth it is a fresh white ceiling?!
The view from the clawfoot tub. We’re still go-go-going with end of the year activities and baseball and we had my sister’s wedding this past weekend. I think I need to see this view when things calm down!
I made more progress painting the living room ceiling this weekend. The ornamentation on one half is painted, and two coats on the outer border. The middle portion is next but we have a really busy week ahead with end of the year kid’s activities (that we are so thankful they get to enjoy this year after missing out on so many the past two years!). We will see where I can fit in some painting in between.
A fun before and after on a Friday. The kitchen now and on the first and second times we ever saw the house. The first time was at 4pm in December so it was twilight and we had to explore the dark rooms with boarded over windows via flashlight. Have you ever explored a dark abandoned house?
I’ve always known this ceiling in the living room with all the plasterwork would be difficult to paint. But it’s going to be SO worth it. The room is going to look ten times brighter. And my right shoulder is going to be so strong. 💪🏻
