Hudson, NY is like a bunch of hip Brooklyn people got together and decided to "play" their idea of upstate New York, but the good food and great design made up for it 😉

Had a great weekend celebrating @megalasaurus8 bachelorette party at Silo View Guest House @airbnb in Ghent, NY! The decor was minimal and slightly rustic with lots of quirky antiques like the softest vintage velvet couch. Pictures of the beautiful wood frame on the back in my stories.

How many lamps is too many lamps? 💡

The one thing my husband has wanted for years is this portrait of himself as an old French general. I have no idea where he got the idea, but he thought it would be a very funny thing to have. He wasn't letting it go (reminding me each time I brought home an old piece of furniture that wasn't his cup of tea!) so I had my talented graphic designer friend @anthonymontanaro make this for my gift to him for Valentine's Day this year. It hangs at the top of our stairs right now and I was surprised to find that it brings us a lot of laughter! And maybe taught me to have more of a sense of humor about design. Now am I going to let him blow it up to 24x36 and put it above the fireplace? Not on your life! If you have a similar sense of humor to my husband, @anthonymontanaro sells these in his Etsy shop now! If I have to read 8-10 books when I tell them only 2, at least it's in this cute tent.
