Renovating in real life is a lot different than it might seem from the outside, or on television. That is, it’s not all before-and-afters! Far from it. Most of the time, there are multiple projects going on at once, and they are all in different stages, from gathering inspiration, to planning, to prepping and actually executing (which takes the most time), to decorating and finally photographing the space. Between those “finished” moments, there are a LOT of weeks where I’m just working away and trying to stay inspired. If you’re interested, I want to share more of that inspiration here every so often.
Warm, layered decor on top of the clean, modern architecture.
The prettiest take on a classic button-up.
Stripes on stripes with a 90’s power-suit vibe.
Cheeky graphic art that makes me nostalgic.
A giant photograph standing alone looks so fresh — as does the color palette of neutrals with glowy goldenrod and copper.
Preppy, vintage summer is my favorite.
What a dramatic, modern treatment for a traditional fireplace.
I’m obsessed with the look of really worn limestone or marble checkered floors like these.

Refined, restrained, yet still cozy.
1 – That rich, goldenrod color is really catching my eye these days. 2 – I love the functionality of roman shades with curtains, and it looks so elegant here.
A dress/tunic over pants (done well) looks so elegant and fresh to me right now.
And another one!
Minimal rustic is one of my favorite looks — especially when it’s this sophisticated.
Button-ups, giant hoop earrings, vintage scarfs = the best kind of beach look.
Obsessed with the contrasting textures yet perfectly matched tones of this marble and cement shower.
