As I mentioned in this post, S and I are focusing on the yard and outdoor spaces this summer after spending a lot of time indoors last year. The part I’m most excited about is our porch. The porch needs a good coat of paint and the lattice needs to be replaced on the bottom, but all I’ve been able to think about is what kinds of plants I want to hang along the top, what color to paint our front door (which is currently a sad, faded red), and how to decorate it so we will want to spend long summer nights relaxing there in a few months. I think I’ve settled on painting the front door a glossy black and decking everything out in Boston ferns and various green and white plants. I’m also thinking about putting plants in clay pots or galvanized metal buckets between our porch furniture. Here are some things inspiring me at the moment:
